Danger: Educated Black Woman

In America, for every bone that is given a meal is taken away. It is the illusion of giving that has the masses straddling fences pretending that freedom and equality have been achieved. In the day of social media it would be easy to believe that communication does not involve physical and social interaction. When atrocities take place it is common place for the masses to take to their devices and post their outrage, and images of whatever it is that has their attention and outrage for the moment. History sits on the witness stand to attest to the fact that the outrage never reaches pass the screen that it is displayed on. The days of the civil rights movement have long since been forgotten and replaced with a false sense of inclusion and equality. Though it is not common place to see a body swinging in the wind under the sun because he or she chose to run to a freedom that has never existed, the truth of the matter is that slavery has not ended. It has, instead, changed faces. The problem with African people born in America is the fact that we took massa’s beliefs, language and ways and adopted them as things to aspire and cling to. We have to be the only people in history that strive to be equal to the evil that oppressed us in the first place. Never mind the fact that they stole our names and beliefs and replaced them with their own. To further complicate the situation, any logic that is presented for the purpose of opening eyes and allowing people to see pass the myths of equality and freedom are met with resistance because it is easier to continue following a misleading path paved with ill intent and tradition than to take a more reflective perspective that causes an examination of everything that has been presented as truth and passed down the line like a whisper getting more and more distorted as it goes...

When logic scratches the surface of sleeping minds it releases senses that must be addressed or ignored, the later not being an option when the agenda is to see things as they truly are. There is no need to feign introspection if there is no true desire to open eyes to truths that bring about changes that are required to break the vicious cycle that divides us as a people. With a clear understanding of the struggles we face because of being Africans born in America, it is clear that we aid the very force that manufactures and installs every glass ceiling that is in place to make sure that we, as a people, stay in our place. Of course, a handful of us are in positions of authority and “power” …I believe to appease us and keep in place a false sense of well being and accomplishment to prevent thinkers from penetrating closed minds that believe that because we have a “Black” president our time has come. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that we are in a position of danger as it relates to living, driving, and being Africans born in America. It takes both my hands and feet and then some to count the mounting list of Africans people born in America who have lost their life or come up missing and are linked back to heinous acts that go unpunished and even rewarded. Our solution is to pray, march, start a petition, or perform some ridiculous dramatic act that is designed to make sure our voices are heard and that we are seen. It is my opinion that we should be more than heard and seen....we need to be felt. Wearing orange and a hash tag is going to do what exactly? Buying skittles and a tea is going to do what? Laying down on the ground in the position of the last black man that was beat to death is going to do what? Rioting and destroying our own property is going to do what exactly? If black lives mattered we would not have to keep reminding people. Prayer without action is serving whose purpose? We don't need our voices heard. We don’t need to be seen. What would happen if We banned together and moved in silence to bring the pain that we feel and adopt an eye for an eye mentality?. People tend to think twice when they know they have to take their own medicine. I will not be participating in any non violence through non compliance acts. I see absolutely no point in it and see it as aiding the very system that was set up to divide and conquer us as a people in the first place. The system doesn't care about our voices being heard. What it would take to cripple the system is something that we have been programmed not to do. There is no meaningful unity among Africans born in America. All we have to do is look to nature. There is strength and power in numbers....collectively working together towards a positive end. Tiny ants represent this concept. Why don't we? Have you ever sat and watched how busy and organized colonies of ants are? Have you seen how they get together and move things that look impossible for them to move? Have you ever watched a documentary and seen how a pack of wolves will ride on one lone lion and straight dominate the situation? That’s the way we should be. We can learn a lot from animals in nature. In order for this change to come about we must seek out and embrace logic. Even with mental conditioning we should have the common sense to embrace and apply the logic that is crucial for our survival....it is basic. Want to cripple the system? Turn your backs to their teachings and spend your money with your own.

I was reading that the public school system is implementing sensitivity training in our schools. So now along with the ridiculous new way they teach math….which can easily make a parent look unintelligent to their child, the bright idea is to introduce the notion or bisexuality and transgender logic to our youth….which in my mind is just a ploy to control the population. Why is it necessary for me to accept the chosen lifestyle of another? Why is it necessary for the public school system to take on the parenting role that allows them to introduce subjects to my child that are not their place to mention in the first place? It’s not like we as a people are building and opening alternative schools to send our children to. And yes, we will fuss, march and do all the same foolish stuff that we do to make us feel like we are doing something, but unless there is something I am overlooking, nothing will change and we will continue to go along to get along. It’s bad enough that the true history of our greatness is not taught in school. To add insult to injury….the gay agenda is deemed relevant. If that is not eye opening for you I don’t know what will be. I do not stand in judgment of the acts and lifestyles of the next man but I do draw the line when other people attempt to impose their will on me or mine. We, as a people have more important things to be concerned with than making sure that people who adopt a gay lifestyle feel comfortable. I don’t ask for permission before I engage in any type of a relationship with a man. It’s as simple as that for me.

We need to be asking ourselves hard questions about the origin of our beliefs...ask ourselves if our basic foundation of thoughts stems from a place of bondage, and if so who does it benefit? We need to let go of what we think we know and educate our own selves so that when we remark on your thoughts we have something to stand on besides blind faith in something outside of ourselves. That is a good starting point from which to build. “They” justified the enslavement of a people for 400 years by labeling then chattel. You have to wonder though…..how did they hatch that plan.....What?... A bunch of people sitting around one day and were like, “We got a lot of cotton to grow and pick and all kinds of work to do….and we need free labor…..I heard tell there were niggers on Africa. Let’s go get them and make them work for us….for free.” Is that how it went? And if that’s the case how did it last for 400 years? It’s easy to say what you will or won’t do when you are not involved….but I just can’t see myself giving in and being a slave. Being called out my name and whipped and sold. I guess that’s why they had to chain us down… before I came to America to live like an animal I would have died like a Queen on my feet in full fledged beast mode battle….fighting before I ever stepped one foot on a ship. Based on the manner in which the white man introduced himself to the African it would be easy to deduce that punishment could be fatal for the African if he chose to fight. That right there should have been enough reason to fight.

The mistreatment of the African race is a testament to just how evil one man can be to another for no reason, outside of greed. THAT’S what it boils down to. We were treated worse than animals. When was the last time you heard about an animal being rapped and forced to have children to be taken from them and sold. The African woman was unprotected. Not only was her body violated …..her mind was violated….. and her spirit was violated. Imagine being forced to have sex… then forced to carry the child…. then forced to watch as that child is auctioned off to the highest bidders and then imagine spending the rest of your life wondering what became of your child….THAT is the burden the Black Woman bears. Imagine being a Man…. an African Man and the shame that had to exist when you were broken in such a public display. It is one thing to know you are a coward…..something totally different to have to live with the notion that anyone with eyes that can see can see that rather than die in battle you chose to live on your knees and what remains are remnant of what we could have been. Our issues run deep and we need to tighten up.

I’m rushing to meet this deadline. The more I type….the more I want to say….until next time.

Respectfully Robin Mills
