I hope The Black Birds Eye View finds you well and in good spirit this month. I will be exploring essays written in “The Isis Papers,” written by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing. If you have not read the Isis Paper, I strongly suggest that you do. It is interesting to me that Dr. Welsing wrote papers in the 70’s that strongly resemble the condition of Black people in America today. This month I will cover The Symbolism of Smoking Objects, written by Dr. Welsing in 1977.
Subject: Chapter 11: The Symbolism of Smoking Objects (March 1977)
I Interpreted the Essay to Mean:
“Smoking is a symbolic phallus, compensation for sensed male genetic and genital inadequacy.” -Dr. Frances Cress Welsing
The cigarette represents the black penis. In sports, the big balls are brown, and the little balls are white. To mark important occasions the white male adorns himself with a long-tailed Black tux and a Black tie, both representing the Black penis. Apparently, the white male is obsessed with the fact that the Black male has a bigger penis and more stamina. On a conscious and subconscious level, the white man fears genetic annihilation by men of color. The only thing that makes the white male feel powerful is a black gun, for without it the white male feels threatened and helpless. Dr. Welsing gave a good example of a “More” Cigarette Ad from back in the day and asks: “Could the mere idea of calling the cigarette “More” be a play on the word “Moor.”
The Foundational Issue: Genetic defective status of white skin.
What I took from the essay (My thought Process):
What drives the white race to do heinous deeds are the very things they cannot change or control. -Robin Mills
This creates a dangerous situation for the black race because the only way the preoccupation with and will to control Black people will be satisfied by the white man is to wipe out the black race. It is not a threat because without the black race (brown people) the white race will most definitely become extinct. Black people and people of color possess within us an abundant amount of a natural resource that will sustain us in the hottest climates. With the fear of global warming, the white race would be fools not to be focusing attention on harvesting Melanin, a dark pigment occurring in the hair, skin, and iris of the eye in people and animals. It is responsible for tanning of skin exposed to sunlight and many other things. (I will go into further detail about Melanin in the upcoming months) It is said that Melanin fosters a superior mental, spiritual, and physical ability in people of color.
History sits on the witness stand to attest to the fact that what the white man lacks, he will take. What does the harvesting of Melanin mean to the Black race and people of color? If the white race has proven anything, it has shown that it will go to any measure to remain what they believe to be the dominant race, no matter how much sense that does not make.
Look to advertisements. It is not a coincidence that suddenly it is the norm to see interracial couples on commercials, to see the leading black woman on TV having affairs with white men. If you think back in time, there was once a time when such scenes were unheard of. The fact is: Interracial marriages were illegal until the late 1960’s.
The reality is, for the white race to maintain its existence it is crucial for the white race to introduce more melanin into its DNA. One must wonder how long the white race has been aware of this need and if slavery did not serve dual purposes all along. After all, the African Slave Woman’s body was fair game to the white slave owner. Could it not be possible that the purpose of impregnating the African Slave Woman was to produce more bodies to make more slaves? The flip side of that coin could be that the act of impregnating the African Slave introduces into the white DNA that which they lack……melanin.
In the grand scheme of things, it is possible that the white man’s visual of what humans will look like in the future will be brown people with white mentalities. I do not believe that the white race has taken into consideration that by concentrating on how to obtain Melanin, they have overlooked the fact that Black DNA houses within it all the power from ancestors before us. I do not think they have taken the time to consider the adverse effects of Black Melanin on their DNA makeup and structure. As in all things, time will certainly tell.
